It's been standard practice here since the beginning of time, but don't
assume this is the case in other echos though. 
The rules were posted a few weeks ago so I'll just repost the pertinent
part for you. If you have any questions, please ask.
(5) Source may be posted using *zip and uuencoded, keeping the contents
    within 150 lines and one message. *No binaries* are to be included;
    the echo is not for file transfers. Source code and text files only!
    The purpose is to keep from losing messages, portions of the source.
    Single plain-text posts are preferred. In the case of multiple part
    postings, permission from the moderator is required.
Note the reference to Zip and UUE. Only these are acceptable.
It should be pointed out that encoding is to be used with disgression.
No sense in encoding a 10 line routine that you are having trouble with,
quite likely this will result in no replies.
