I refill mine myself. After carefully cleaning the inside of the
tank, I dissolve about 3 pounds of bicarbonate of soda in enough water
to fill the tank to the fill line - add enough soda to make a saturated
solution. Next, I clean and carefully fill the inner acid bottle to the
fill line with clean battery acid purchased at the local battery
rebuilders. (1.260 to 1.310 specific gravity sulphuric acid). After
reassembly, the unit is ready to go.
