    I'm surprised clicking makes it go away at all.  The only way I know
 is to use the intended "Unmark Block" command of Ctrl-K, H.  It was
 never intended to work exactly like a Microsoft app, where the
 highlighting goes away when you clicked elsewhere or hit any cursor
 movement key.
