The high price of college tuition, together with the heavy financing of
it by the _students_ through loans (as opposed to parents paying for college
as a generation earlier), means that bright students are more likely to see
things this way than ever.
Various studies have found that student-loan debt is affecting everything
from home-mortgage affordability to purchasing patterns by grads, so why
shouldn't the student think of his earning prospects?
