One of Sydney's major old buildings "Grace Building" became the hub of
interstate and inter- urban phone routes c1930s. The cable tunnels high
enough, wide enough that one Grace Building employee commuted from his home

work daily, along a radial.
And during one of the first City to Surf marathons, a keen kayacker paddled
the full distance from Sydney to the Bondi sewer outfall and arrived ahead of
the runners. Downhill, all the way...... I guess he held his breath!
