i'm trying to make a script for a mud I play quite frequently, to create
a character, it gives you a list of number 5 sets to be exact.
the problem i have is that when i use the getN or in fact any getch type
command it skips a lot of characters and does not return the correct
number that i am needing, is there a way to get the script to go through
the whole buffer without skipping characters just because it's doing
something else? The following is that hte data looks like
You can choose from any of the following sets of abilities:
1. Str: 8 Int: 13 Wis: 8 Dex: 11 Con: 16 Chr: 14 Lck: 11
2. Str: 12 Int: 7 Wis: 11 Dex: 15 Con: 15 Chr: 11 Lck: 13
3. Str: 13 Int: 14 Wis: 10 Dex: 14 Con: 12 Chr: 12 Lck: 14
4. Str: 14 Int: 12 Wis: 15 Dex: 11 Con: 16 Chr: 13 Lck: 13
5. Str: 17 Int: 16 Wis: 14 Dex: 17 Con: 11 Chr: 11 Lck: 14
Choice? [Enter=Roll again, H for help on classes, Q to quit from ...
what i get is the first "Str", but then like the second "Int" instead of
the first. To me the problem is that when i am getting the characters
for the "str", it's skipping a lot of stuff before it starts to look for
the "int"
