From: Thees Peereboom Geo, >I don't disagree with anything you posted, but to my mind there are two >classes of problems, the kind that are common and the kind that are rare. I >prefer to set things up so the common ones are easy to deal with. This is only part of the equation. To know whether things are rare or common is one thing but to calculate your risk you should multiply this with the severance. If chances are rare, but *when* it happens it will destroy your company, you'd better take precautions. If its rare *and* the implications are limited, you'd better not bother and cross that bridge when getting there. If you're selling soundtracks and have them stored in the filesystem with broken links in the database, you'll have to deal with a whole bunch of pissed off clients. - Thees Peereboom --- BBBS/NT v4.01 Flag-4* Origin: Barktopia BBS Site http://HarborWebs.com:8081 (1:379/1.45) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 379/1 633/267 |
