I made something that is fun to play with! I got 2 Hamsticks for 10
meters and mounted them end to end horizontally.
Voila! A cheap rotatable dipole. mounted at about 35' I had a 1.1 to
1.5 swr across most of the band.

I took 2 mirror mounts and bolted them to a length of mast and secured the
center conductor to one mount and the braid to the other. I then came down
about 2-3 feet and wound 4 turns of coax at about 6-8 inch diameter.
Then fed it right into the radio.
At such a low altitude, it does seem to be very directional.
Gonna try 20 and 40 meters also. Will post results as i get more
exposure to this antenna.

Cheap, easy and (apparently) effective and very compact.

73 and Happy Holidaze!
