Hi Jerry--

    It can be done (I imagine that anything can be done in REXX,
although I haven't figured out how to do them all, yet), but it isn't
very straightforward.

    Here is a fragment of a REXX program that does the job:

      message = "your output string goes here"
      parse value SysCurPos() with row col
      say message
      call SysCurPos row, col + length(message)
--------------------
