That had occurred to me, too, but I discounted it because I couldn't see 
Edge getting that kind of push at this time.

But the ending that they had did make a lot of sense, if you can think 
like the WWE.  HHH gets into the final 2 in order to keep his push 
going, but loses because of outside interference because he will never 
do a clean job to Kane; actually, he didn't really job to Kane at all 
this way.
