JB> I'm firmly in your camp with this one, for another reason I hadn't JB> thought about. To add delete echoes, you'd have to bother the sysop to JB> forward them or not, wouldn't you? CH> Wow. I never thought of that either! ANother plus for a point. To add JB> HUH? I meant how when I want to add an echo I don't have to bother the sysop. That is to ask him or her (rather than go look as it's easier to make him/her do the work heh haha)- if he or she actually carries a particular echo. Some set ups are hard to navigate and you ultimately need the sysops' help. IE: On one system you can be easily confused by the LIST of echos and the separate area where you actually SELECT or de select an echo. IN that case I had to bother the sysop. With my point, I don't have to wade through a long list. I just areafix for or to delete what I want/don't want. It's just easier. And you don't have to worry about whether or not your boos node happens to carry a desired echo on his/her system. One system has a list of echos with numbers. And the screen doesn't pause every 24 lines say so you have to write the numbers down and then put them to add/delete where the prompt finally shows up. Ugh! .................. CH> You can do the add delete in qwk door too but on some boards it's CH> tricky. JB> The BW door was SWEET! No passwords, but what you log on as. In your JB> upload zip, it would toggle on or off as you wished... FILE REQUEST JB> FILES... It *was* sweet! I did like that BW! :) It was easy! And your OLMR list had ONLY the echos you selected.d With SLMR you have the entire kit and kaboodle there with the selected echos 'marked'. Just a nuisance. ........... JB> I have no doubt this ppoint you use has come a LONG way to poinitn as It's probably not the latest, but it works for me. :) Frank Vest bless his heart, got me set up with it. *Had some troubles but worked them all through). Now I'm with Jack Yates and he helped me alter what needed altering. We both survived! :) Frank had inspired my needed confidence and patience that Jack expected and well ... demanded. :) .................. JB> I knew it. We'd have to manually edit the 'allow' file, with the JB> points preference, then turn on and off echoes as they wished from the JB> sysop console... It was totally laborious! I've no idea what the boss node has to go through at their end. Only mine. I'm grateful for the service. Cindy ...
