let's clarify things. a few people have taken the route to tell ZyXEL about
connecting problems.
ZyXEL has asked to enter e certain debugging state and record the connects
in capture files. this will report stuff like :
B00 B01 B22 B02 B03 B20 B21 B20 B21 B20 B21 B20 B21 B20 B21 B20 B21 B20
B21 B20 B21 B20 B21 B20 B21 B05 B19 B06 B07 B0F B1A B1B B1C B1D B1E B1F
B24 T04 T0C T10 T14 T18 T1C T20 T24 T28 T2C T30 T34 T38 T3C T40 T44 T48
T4C T5C R0C T60 R10 T64 R18 R1C R20 T68 R24 T6C R28 T70 T74 T78 T80 T84
R2C T8C R30 T90 T98 T9C R34 R38
CONNECT 26400/ARQ/V.34/V42b T9C R38
Welcome to XS4ALL. (TRN9/12 MAS-PM2/26)
and this information is used to get things better. I have received two
versions that are 'not recommended to distribute'. and they look much better
at this point. previously, when connecting to TRON modems, I got a connect
rate of approx 50%. half of the connections were lost just before the
connect message was shown. 1.09 went much better. Now, with this version, I
have tested things and only one time, the connection was dropped, after a
few bytes. but that was 1 out of (checking logfiles...) 79 times.
Still not really all at 28k8 but it is much better.
I'm not sure if ZyXEL wants more info on the connect stuff, but if so, it
would be a good idea to tell how to generate the above byte sequences and
where to send to., At this point, I'm not sure if they would like to be
flooded with it :-)
