Happy Birthday, Disneyland, which had its official grand opening
this date in 1955.  Happy birthday, and many more!
In honor of Disneyland's birthday today, let's chat about it:
Even if you haven't been to Disneyland or to any Disney theme park,
what do you think the significance of Disneyland is after 42 years?
Does it recall memories of Walt Disney to you?  Memories of visits
there with families, friends or loved ones?  Is it the place where
a lot of the Disney theme park attractions we know and love got started?
Is it a magical place, or just a place to ride rides, see shows and
have a good time?  If there was never a Disneyland, do you think any
amusement park today would be the same as it is today or would the
competitors be any better?  Or do you think anyone else other than
Walt Disney could have come up with a "theme park" concept and done
as well with the idea as Disneyland turned out to be?  Is Disneyland
today a "poor step-child" compared to WDW or is it better than WDW?
Is Disneyland just fine as it is, or would you make changes to it and
if so what changes?  Do you wish there were more Disneylands in the
world than Orlando, Tokyo and Paris, or would too many dilute the
fun and meaning of it?  If you've been to Disneyland, what are your
fondest or maybe funniest or weirdest or most significant memories of
it?   Do you look forward to the New Tomorrowland renovation and the
new California Adventure theme park now being built at Disneyland?
Do other theme parks hold a candle to Disneyland, or are there aspects
of other theme parks that are better than Disneyland?  Did you propose
to your sweetheart at Disneyland, or marry there, or honeymoon there?
Or whatever comes to mind when you think:  Disneyland. :-)
