RS> And, what the difference between AStrict and HStrict debug kernels?

The Astrict debug kernel contains extra checking of params passed
between components of the kernel and extra data areas in some control
blocks and 4 kernel heaps instead of 2. Larger and has a bigger timing
hit (5-10%). The hstrict kernel does not contain this extra checking
and data areas but still allows you to break in and execute commands
to display/control the system. Less of a timing hit (2-5%).

All opinions are my very own, IBM has no claim upon them
