LS> Exactly :) And more is better :)
Not necessarily... after all, a landfill full of tofu isn't anything next
to one pizza.
LS> I didn't like the HoloDuke but yes I guess -the grapling hook in Quake
for
LS> instance seems very cool (haven't used it yet)
Hey, I've managed to pull some of my more daring multiplayer escapes with a
HoloDuke - when they're not sure who to shoot at, that cuts the potential to
land a hit in half. And, of course, more than one person has succumbed to
the notorious HoloDuke trap (put a couple of pipebombs next to it, lie in
wait, etc.).
The grappling hook is definitely useful - however, it IS a form of cheating
in some respects. The only way to "foolproof" a level is to make it so you
have to use the hook to complete the level.
LS> It wouldn't even be similar, for one thing in Doom you

Yeah, but the point being is that ROTT's discs aren't really that advanced
at all; you're just assigning it some "markers" to go to and making it a
"solid" sprite.
LS> That is completly a matter of opinion- I liked the
LS> discs, some didn't, others

But they didn't have much bearing on the game itself, at least not for me.
LS> As I've said many a time before and if I have to will

True.
LS> That is true :)
LS> But as you obviously think -they're all obsolete because of Quake :)
LS> However for their time they were great, and I like them
LS> both, I did like Doom

It was good, but you have to acknowledge that the engine and the "tricks"
weren't really much better than Doom's at all.
