subject: Naming Conventions

Hi Renald,
If You mean for personal use and it helps eliminate mistakes and/or
save time, great. For group projects and to share around the World, I
think not so good. There are some interesting concepts, but the main
thing it does is to limit names down to 7 characters. I think one of
the worst things about "xBASE" is the 10 digit maximum name length. I
have wished for a long time for a trick to get us to say 13 at least,
that would help a lot.
The CodeBook people already have a set of Naming Conventions for
FoxPro that are rather widely accepted. Although I personal think they
are overkill and only go along with about half of it. I also think
modern lexical checkers (i.e. Snap, FoxDoc, etc.) tend to negate the
Name confusion argument. Thank You for presenting Your ideas, maybe
You will stir up some others.
                                                       Good day to Ya,
                                                       den
