RS> When I was about 4 years old, my parents would take me fishing.
RS> With Live Minnows and Crappie Rigs they would try to catch
RS> Crappie when they were schooling. When their Minnow began
RS> to lose their ability to swim, they would take them off and
RS> put on a new "Live" minnow. They would give me the dead ones.
RS> I would catch 1 and sometimes 2 at once with their dead ones.
RS> The only difference was, I was using a straight line. No Rod
RS> and Reel, no Pole. Just let the bottom sinker down to the
RS> bottom and pull it up about a foot. With the straight line
RS> I could feel those Crappie sucking on the minnow. When they
RS> took it in their mouth I set the hook and pulled them in.
RS> A "Real" fisherman does not need all of those expensive
RS> Rods, Reels, Lines and what have you. Just a Row Boat and
RS> a straight line is all that is necessary.
Great story. I used to fish with a stick and a line from the homemade
boat. It was fun.
I like crappie. There are a lot of them and they are a pretty good size.
You must have been thrilled to catch a crappie when you were 4 years old.
I still remember catching my first perch.
... Dave of Borg..you will be assim..ooh look! a fishing show on TV!..
