Rich Garcia always has been, and is still carries more respect
among his peers, the players, and even the fans than any other
American League umpire.
 
He missed one -- unfortunately he missed it in a critical,
heavily exposed situation, but made the call as he saw it-
he didn't see the kid.
 
OK he missed one in the playoffs -- then again, if he weren't
the cream of the crop, he wouldn't have been umpiring in the
playoffs.
