We just got back from RAW; here are my thoughts and observations.

Dark matches and HEAT (spoilers, of course)

First match was local talent. The guy announced as being from Phoenix
got the face pop; he lost.

Second match was Rhyno over Val Venis with the gore. It was an OK
match, suitable for Heat.

Third match was Nidia over Jazz. It was much better than I had expected
from these two. If I recall correctly, Nidia won with a schoolgirl
rollup off the ropes.

Fourth match was Cade over Grand Master Sexay. Coach stayed in his
announcer's chair, and did not get involved.

They got the audience shots for the opening after all the matches.

RAW comments. Lillian sang the National Anthem without any
interruptions. A few moments later, she asked for a moment of silence
for Tillman, and after a few idiots (can't think of a more descriptive
term for them) were silenced by their neighbors, we actually had a
silent arena.

We thought that Kane would not be there because there were no flash pots
on the ring posts. We were wrong.

When HHH complained about HBK getting the title shot instead of himself,
I knew there would be a run-in during the match. In fact, during the
match itself, I called it about 30 seconds before Trips became visible
at the head of the ramp.

When McMahon showed up and waxed about the championship match, I was
afraid that he's pull a screw job like with Bret Hart. I'm glad that
didn't happen.

Speaking of McMahon, he spent just enough time in the sky box to get
ready for his short appearance there, and left right after the spot
ended. He had one or two security people in the box with him.

After the show went off the air, Michaels slowly got to his feet, and
got a standing ovation from the crowed; they played his music, and he
staggered up the ramp. His ovation was about as loud as Benoit's, which
was also a standing one. For that matter, everyone in the arena were on
thier feet during the last ten minutes of the match.
