  I just checked this again when Frank told me his problem, and as far
as I can see, what you do is foolproof. If it works for me, it *has*
to be foolproof! 

  When I set out to "tidy up" your batch files, the first hing I did
was consolidate the extra directories... but then I put them all back
again.
