At a supermarket checkout the other day, I was behind a lady who was
buying some cigarettes from the checkout chick and commenting on the
price.  I chipped in, reminding them of Tony Barber's tv ads - "Join
the club, Join the club, Join the Escort club" followed by "Thirty
Four cents, And you're a member".  They were both suitably horrified
to be reminded of the old price.

But it brought up a question:  When was TV advertising of cigarettes
outlawed?

...Nowadays, people shoplift to save time, not money.
