I bought Lewisohn Chronicle the day before yesterday. He gives Ringo's return (and the famous drums covered in flowers) as the 3rd, although he didn't do anything that day, so I guess the 4th would be his first day of work. As regards the promos themselves, he says there were two of each, all videotaped, although one of the 'Hey Jude' clips is cut together from two different performances. He agrees that the vocals are live over the recorded backing tracks (which I guess is pretty obvious), although oddly enough Paul's original vocal is also being played in the main part of 'Hey Jude', and attributes this to the fact that 'Hello Goodbye' had fallen foul of the MU's miming ban. Unfortuately, he doesn't seem to know whether the sound was mixed live or kept separate, although I suppose the presence of the clips in the Anthology (which I admit I haven't seen since it was on ten years ago) suggests the latter.
