CK> Yoo Hoo, Blanca & Fidonet Disney Echo EchoEARS!
Hi! :)
CK> Hey, it's OK to discuss all the little jokes, animations, songs and
CK> other stuff about Hercules, even the merchandise of it. Hercules
CK> merchandise go ahead and talk about, the movie please put a "spoiler"
CK> as Blanca did. Disney theme park shows and parades go ahead and
CK> discuss. Hercules is what Disney current product is all about right
CK> now, that and "George of the Jungle" live action movie. So feel
I like George of the jungle. I think it's hilarious. (Sp?) I love that show.
CK> free to chat! What did anyone else think of Hercules? Like it?
CK> Not? How does it compare to Aladdin or other Disney animated films?
I liked it. Dad loved it. Dusney movies all make me cry, and this ine,
wasn't the excpetion.
CK> On July 9th '97 you wrote to David Mehrmann:

I loved it! :)
BA> DM> Anyone else who could tell me funny things about
BA> DM> Hercules, here? =) Spoiler included {giggle}... I'd really like
BA> DM> to know if it's as good and funny as Aladdin, or if it can't be

CK> [....]
BA> > =) Or is it a pure comedy?
BA>
BA> Not excactly, but it has comedy.
CK> The film has _tons_ of comedy and a lot of in-jokes. You have to see
CK> it several times to "get" all the little references and one-liner
CK> jokes.
Well, maybe I didn't get all of the in-jokes. Maybe that's it. :)
BA> > Action packed?
BA>
BA> Well... 50-50
CK> The animation involving the hydra fight was very well done.
Oh yes, I for gat all about the hydra. :)
BA> > Anything with animals (except fish)?
BA>
BA> And pegasus, and Phill.... :)
CK> The hydra too!
The hydra?? Oh yes!! I'm telling you, I forgot all about the hydra. :( :)

BA> I haven't herd the soundtrack.

BA> > What songs are there? =)
BA>
BA> I haven't herd the soundtrack.
CK> Yes you have... you saw the movie so you heard the soundtrack! (Doh!
CK> ;-))
*:/ Well, you know what I mean. (The CD?) :)
CK> The soundtrack, when heard by itself without having seen the film,
CK> sounds a little different than past Disney fare. After you see
CK> Hercules you understand the soundtrack a lot better. It's based on
CK> black gospel/R & B/ 50's-60's pop girl group/"Grease" type music.
I loved the songs, (How yuo call them? The ladies that where dressed in
white? Since I saw it Spanish, the name I have for it is "Musas")
BA> > Who made the songs/score?
BA>
BA> Alan Menken,(Or someting like that)
CK> Music and original score by Alan Menken and lyrics by David Zippel.
CK> On Usenet there is a strong rumor that Alan Menken is leaving
CK> association with Disney and moving on to other things.
Why?!
BA> > Any great computer animations, too? Love and Light, =)
BA>
BA> Very beautifull. :)
CK> The animation style is inspired by a British cartoonist, whose name
CK> escapes me now. You see it in how the various gods are drawn.
You know, persons I know are saying that the Japanese animators all draw
eyes that don't look like Japanese eyes. The reason is, they got inspired on
the way Disney draws the eyes.
CK> not just Disney. It seems like the major studios are all releasing
CK> what they hope will be "blockbusters" and there's just a lot of
CK> competition, weird summer movie season in the US.
Yes. Well, I have a strong recomendation from a friend that MIB is a great
movie, and that he recomends Hercules and MIB for great movies.
Bye!
Blanca.
