At least you don't have to worry about it staying there for six months before

Better the wankers in front of you than behind you, at least you can see
where they're going.

Stick one of those locking pins in it. (the bobby pin thingys that prevent
nuts from going loose) It moves around when you drive and stops the muck from
building up. Good idea for the doors as well, if it doesn't obstruct when you
close it.
