Hi,
I'm hopeing someone on this echo can direct me to the proper echo
to ask my !HELP! question if this is not it.
This morning when I attempted to boot my OS2 Warp system at work
I got the message: " OS2KERNL is not acceptable ".
I booted from the installation disks and copied a new OS2KERNL file
from an identical system. No go. same msg. I tried to reinstall
OS2. Instalation proceeds untill the reboot point after about disk
#6. Same message: "OS2kernl is not acceptable".
The only thing I can relate the trouble to is that I had recently
installed Netscape & Trumpet Winsock in my dos partition and had been
playing w/ sending email w/ attached files. I had been running it
under WinOS2. My system is dual boot with
boot manager installed. My DOS/WINDOWS partition has trouble too. It boots
but Windows 3.1 wouldn't run and had to be reinstalled. Even
WordPerfect (6.0 dos version) won't run - fails
w/ "packed file corrupt" msg.
Any Ideas on how to get OS2 back? Anyone ever run into "OS2KRNL is not
acceptable"?
Thanks so much.
