   I read your reference to uninstall. So? You just described your =
random flailing trying to disable it. If you had a brain you might =
consider reading the help topic and following the instructions. You are =
just making a mess doing random things you don't understand.

  Ok so you can't read, look at my previous posts, notice the word =
"uninstall"=20
  in regard to defender not turned off but uninstalled as in I don't =
want any=20
  patch or service pack re-enabling the damn thing and I don't want to =
run=20
  into incompatibilities because some piece of it (like the damn =
service)=20
  doesn't shut off when you turn it off and notice the word "detailed" =
in=20
  regard to services as in a 10 word sentence is hardly detailed.

  I no longer trust windows to honor my commands. Just because I set =
something=20
  to off doesn't mean it will stay that way.

     Are you trying to show that you are an idiot. It's it obvious =
enough.=20
  Maybe you should go back and read what I wrote to you about how to =
turn off=20
  Windows Defender instead of ignoring this and making a mess as you =
flail=20
  randomly.

     To see all services and their descriptions use the services =
management=20
  console. How could you possibly not know of this?

    I disabled the service for defender, then I got a "service failed to =

  start"
    error when rebooting so I had to track that down (how can a service =
"fail=20
  to
    start" when it's set to disabled?).

    I'll get there but this stuff really should be far more modular and
    removable.

    Is there a list of services with detailed descriptions somewhere?

    Geo.
