I wonder if having national standards places too much curriculum control 
in a national body and doesn't give individual states enough say in the 
matter.  And if national standards were adopted, would individual 
districts be held accountable for not measuring up?  It seems to me the 
less the federal government has to do with educational outcomes the 
better.  Just thinking out loud.......dt
