Their newest scheme is charging $3 per month as
a "customer maintenance fee", in additional to the
other already ridiculous fees that they "pass on"
to the customer.
Basically, I've just gotten a bill for the last two months
from AT&T for over $11, and I didn't make one long
distance call.
So I'm paying them $11 every two months not to use
their service. Boy, what a deal! Next they'll be charging
for the air that you breathe while speaking into the phone.
I suggest everyone call your local phone company and
elect to have no designated long distance carrier on your
phone. Thus you'll pay the $1.50, or something minimum
carrier fee - but that's better than paying some $6 a month
for a service you don't even use.
You can use 10-10-321 at any time you want to make a
long distance call - and they don't charge you anything
if you don't use their service. Wow- what a concept!
They're also cheaper at 99c for the first 20 minutes and
9c thereafter, as opposed to AT&T's ridiculous 15c per
minute rate.
And screw AT&T.
