I agree, Blanca.  The same category--not surprising since they have the
same directors--but ultimatly, 'Aladdin' just has more laughs than
'Hercules.'  I credit Robin Williams.

I'll go along with "pretty."  OTOH, the opening scene in 'The Lion King'
is probably the most ambitious, cinematographically impressive, and
moving scene I have ever seen in any film--animated or live action.

Sure you have, Blanca.  The CD or tape is exactly the same music you
heard in the film.

I don't have the titles handy, but there is one song each from Hercules,
Meg, and Phil, plus four or five from the Muses.  None are exactly
memorable enough to have you whistling them as you leave the theater.

Well, yes and no.  They Hydra was entirely computer-generated.  The
animators bragged about having to make it less realistic and more
cartoony, but it was still pretty obvious to me that it was drawn by a
machine--too perfect in too many ways.  Not bad enough to distract from
the film, but nowhere near as seamless as the crowds in 'Hunchback' or
the wildebeast in 'The Lion King.' IMHO.
It's a great film, David.  By all means go see it.  Is it one of
Disney's few best?  Only time will tell, but I expect time to say,
"Disney has done better."  But even Disney's worst films are pretty
good.
