       Regarding something I just read in March issue of CN.

I know I shouldn't stick my nose in, but I will anyway (well thats the
type of guy I am).

It is stated that "The most used archives on Network BBS are
ULTLYNX3.C64 and ARKIVE.V20".

I know I've mentioned this before (not specifically to you) but LYNX is
BAD NEWS !!!!

The files don't always xfer too well via modem, and it has a nasty
habit of corrupting disks.

I too used to think it was the bees-knees of CBM "archivers" - it looks
nice and is easy to use, but that is all it has going for it.

During the first 12months or so of running "Thistle Dome" I (foolishly)
used Lynx almost exclusively. The problems started showing, users
complaining that the downloads wouldn't work, my testing them caused
problems on my disks, and it just got worse and worse..

After 18 months and lots of headaches I decided it wasn't worth it.
I banned Lynx'd files from being uploaded, and the Lynx'd files I
already had were converted to other formats (SDA, or SFX).
It took me weeks to do, but it was worth it.

So much problems did it cause me that these days I refuse to even waste
my time d/loading lynx'd files (I'd rather do without), and should I
ever get them sent to me on disk I ensure that *all* of my drives
(other than the one I'm using to dissolve with) are turned off or
disconnected before proceeding.

It is only a matter of time before you or your users also get bitten.
