At least with the GPEDIT, or on XPHome with the reg file I uploaded, it
only checks with a non-existant server on your local network (or wherever
you point it), and the Update service is still running when you want to go
to WindowsUpdate.  You can also set what time of day you want it to chedk
(like 3AM or such.)
