PS> Hi! PS> I'm writing a routine that will handle some serial I/O PS> (modem), and I need to PS> use a pipe in message mode. I know how to read/write to message pipes PS> (DosTransactNPipe or something, don't remember, but I PS> can look it up in a PS> second), but how do I create a message pipe? Nothing's PS> said about message-mode PS> in the descriptions for DosCreatePipe. Message pipes are a type of NAMED PIPE. DosCreatePipe() is for anonymous pipes -- a completely different monster, from the unix world, ususally used for redirection and piping the output from one program to another. DosCreateNPipe() is used to create named pipes, message mode or byte mode. > And I want it PS> to be unnamed, since PS> several processes will call the same routine. More than one process can use the same pipe name to connect to the server process(es). --- Maximus/2 3.00* Origin: Sol 3 * Toronto * V.32 * (905)858-8488 (1:259/414) SEEN-BY: 50/99 54/99 270/101 620/243 625/160 711/401 413 430 934 712/311 407 SEEN-BY: 712/505 506 517 623 624 704 713/317 800/1 @PATH: 259/414 99 2424/38 11 10 12/12 396/1 270/101 712/624 711/934 |
