That still doesn't address the fact that your nodelisted phone number was
disconnected. If it were someone else looking to connect with you for
their first nodelisting, how many would give up after finding that your
number was disconnected?

That's why we see all of the dialup internet businesses out of business
now. Everybody has access to the internet via other means...Yeah, right.

That's no excuse for having a disconnected POTS and still having it listed
in the nodelist. Who knows how long it was disconnected before I brought
it up here in the echoes. Easy to change the nodelisting on a moments
notice, being the one in control of the region nodelist.
