Good news!  I'm pretty sure it was some Win32 screen writing code that
was the fault.  I copied it from the original timEd source code, but I
get the feeling that was never tested properly, so I need to replace it
with something that works.  The config.c code seems safe, in hindsight.

timEd now compiles with Borland C++ and Microsoft Visual C++ in Windows
(in addition to GNU C in UNIXish systems).  It's not quite in a usable
state yet, but it's probably not far off.
