Roy, at 21:23 on Jan 08 1999, you wrote to Bill Grimsley... RM>> I never knew that the fringe benefits tax had pots in it. RM>> Does this mean we can adjust it to fool the tax dept??? RM> A day or so after I wrote this, a Hagar The Horrible joke RM> appeared in the local rag. You get decent cartoons in your local rag? Lucky bastards! RM> Large black-clad heavily armed executioner type person tells Hagar: RM> "Your J.B. tax is due." Hagar asks "WTH is a J.B.tax??" LBCHAETP RM> replies: "A Just Because tax." That would be funny, if it didn't have a ring of truth about it. In case you're wondering why I find our tax system about as amusing as cancer of the colon, both of my parents have now retired, yet they've maintained their respective companies because if they liquidate their respective cash and assets, they'll lose almost half of what they've spent the bulk of their lives earning (it becomes personal income, and is taxed at the top marginal rate of 48%), which is pretty crook when one considers that these funds have ALREADY been taxed at the top company rate of 38%. In other words, for every $100 they earned during their working lives, they will actually only nett around $32 (which equates to an overall effective tax rate of 68%). So please, no more tax "jokes". :( Regards, Bill @EOT: --- Msgedsq 3.10* Origin: Pearl Beach, NSW (3:640/305.9) SEEN-BY: 371/52 623/630 632/0 371 633/210 260 262 267 270 284 371 634/397 SEEN-BY: 635/506 728 639/50 252 640/201 230 238 305 306 320 350 370 531 777 SEEN-BY: 640/812 820 954 670/218 690/650 711/410 948 712/311 623 888 713/905 SEEN-BY: 801/0 @PATH: 640/305 201 712/623 633/260 635/506 728 633/267 |
