Yes, because the general public believes (erroneously) that the year 2000
starts the new millenium. It's actually the year 2001 that starts the
milennium. Since I started reading Disney computer chat messages areas
five years ago the anticipation to be at a Disney theme park when 1999
becomes 2000 has become an obsession. Rooms have been sold out for that
particular New Year _for years_. The best you can hope for now is that
there will be cancellations and that you can get on a waiting list of
some sort. This subject comes up very frequently on Disney computer chat
groups. If it means that much to you "pay da money" because to wait to
the last minute, even this far in advance, you will be shut out. And I
would keep calling Central Reservations at WDW periodically until your
trip that particular year to keep reconfirming your reservations are still
there and still in order, just to be on the safe side. BTW, on Usenet
Disney newsgroups one time someone purportedly from Disney held out that
the significance of the year 2000 to Disney is in the Roman numerals for
the year: MM (Get it? MM being "two thousand" and also the initials of
Mickey Mouse. ;-))
