Hi Dot!

DF> ÿ@SUBJECT:The saga of the expensive thimble!
I should say it was expensive! It would be funny if you hadn't had
to spend all that money to learn this lesson. I know all
about doctor bills and expensive stuff like that. I have been having
kidney trouble and had a lot of lab work done and I shiver to think
what the bill will be. The kidney specialist alone is about a hundred
dollars a visit and I go for the second visit on Monday. With no
health insurance we get to pay the full bill, too.
DF> I think I'll go back to being thimbleless. Band aides are less
DF> expensive and a whole lot less painless.
They have these thingies you can stick on your finger and they keep
your fingers from getting sore and needing a bandaid. I was thinking
maybe I could make some of these for myself and not have to buy 'em,
but maybe I'll order some and see if they work and if I can figure
out how they are made first.
I got a quilting thimble that is made of leather with some kind
of extra-strong spot in the middle of the finger. You strap this
on with velcro so it is as tight or loose as you want it to be.
It works ok for me. If I could just get my hands working to push
that needle in and out the way I need to, now, I'd be thrilled.
They are still quite stubborn about learning to do this! hehehe!
I will persist until I succeed, or die trying!
Be careful with those fingers! You need them to quilt, and to type
messages to all of us. We love you all in once piece!

Wendy
