 PS> Two questions:

        Hopefully, as many answers

PS> 1) I've been trying to learn some PM programming, getting the info

"really"
PS> learn. All the books I've seen are fore C and are old. Is there any
PS> book on PM programming that is NEW (Warp 3, preferably 4 supported)
 PS> and C++ based (preferably)?

I own two OS/2 programming books. The first is OS/2 Warp
Programming for Dummies. It does a good job at introducing OS/2,
and well worth the 20$ I paid for it. However, once you want to
actually do OS/2 programming, you need another source of information.
Expect only an introduction from the Dummies book and you'll be
happy. The second book is Designing High-Powered OS/2 Warp
Applications. This book is either too advanced for my level, or
it simply presents general guidelines that are too broad for my
taste.

If these were my only source of OS/2 information, it'd be
quite difficult to accomplish anything. The OS/2 Toolkit is a
must. It contains online books on PM, GPI, CP (file and memory),
MMPM, SOM. And there also are some tools, such as a dialog editor
and a SOM compiler. The toolkit is available with some compilers,
but often it is an outdated version: Watcom C/C++ v10.0 ships
with v2.0 of the toolkit, and v11.0 MAY ship with v2.1 (I've had
no confirmation on this).

But there are other sources on the internet, such as EDM:
http://www.edm2.com/

And you might still find some of the books from the OS/2
toolkit online at:
http://www.developer.ibm.com/library/p_guides.html
http://www.developer.ibm.com/sdp/library/ref/reference.html

For the tools, I'd suggest you take a look at:
http://www.software.ibm.com/objects/somobjects/

Or it may be accessible from here:
http://www.software.ibm.com/clubopendoc/index.html

All the URLs I've listed above are old (6 months), and I
haven't checked them recently. If you cannot access a specific
page, try only accessing the directory, such as
http://www.developer.ibm.com/library/
without specifying p_guides.html

PS> 2) I've been thinking of learning to program JAVA. Since I know most
PS> stuff in C++ it shouldn't be any problems. But I wanna start by
PS> getting some "free" info, like via internet. Is there
any good stuff
 PS> out there?

The OS/2 port for Java is currently at v1.02. Back in December
there was talk that v1.1 would be release in 2Q97, which is approaching
quite rapidly. Also, I've read IBM releases to the effect that Java
development has entered into a 24 hour cycle: round the clock advances.
However, I do not know whether this applies only to Java applications or
if this also includes the SDK. This frenzy is an attempt at releasing
applications in the first week of April.

You can find the SDK at:
http://ncc.hursley.ibm.com/javainfo/hurindex.html

There's also a Java tutorial from Sun at:
http://www.javasoft.com/books/Series/Tutorial/intro.html
That page also contains links to various Java sites, and you
should have a look at:
http://www.gamelan.com/

Finally, IBM has a personnal usenet server. It is at
news://ncc.hursley.ibm.com
and carries the following newsgroups:
ibmpub.java!
ibmpub.java.announce!
ibmpub.java.os2!

ibmpub.java.aix!
ibmpub.java.cics!
ibmpub.java.os390!
ibmpub.java.os400!
ibmpub.java.win31!
ibmpub.test!
