Gee... I guess you never had the urge to upgrade...  I was also under
the impression that 4.x was never really stable.  You could at least
pick up an old copy of DR-DOS 6.0 and have about everything that MS-DOS
6.x does, compression, defragger, high loading, etc.  I've got a copy of
DR6.0 that I'd be willing to sell.... (No, I don't actually expect you
to want it. )
I would recommend getting a 14.4k modem though.  They are less than $50
mail order.  That's even cheaper than the RPI ones are in the store.  If
you do any LD calling at all, you will break even, and then save money
fairly quick.  I even saw an ad in Tiger Software for $29.99, with any
other purchase.  (Of course, if you are just doing local, it is quite
possible the 2400 does all you need or want.)
