First, I have nothing against USR, as a whole. I recommend them whenever
it's appropriate. I own two USR v.everything Couriers (33600 *capable*) and
they are fine modems. I also own a 1496S+ which, until the USR v.34 code
stabilized, was the finest modem I have ever owned (of about 50 or so). I'm
anxiously awaiting the ZyXEL LCD model, which I'm sure they'll build sometime
in my lifetime.

Well, either the Swedish Sportster code is MUCH better than what's available
here in the US, or there will be a lot of sorely disappointed Swedish former
ZyXEL users - those who sell their ZyXELs and buy Sportsters! That's why I
suggested browsing comp.dcom.modems for a bit, so you could see just what
sort of problems the Sportsters are causing.
As I said earlier, I've no particular problem with USR, or the Courier line,
but I wouldn't have a current Sportster as a gift!
