I have been reading this thread for a while....
I just can't see why pirating makes sense.
I have seen Visual Basic 5.0 Enterprise Edition on Microsoft's site for
$1199.00
Yes, you read right, $1199.00. I've seen it on IRC where I could have
gotten it
for free. I also live by the law, do unto others as you would have done
unto you.
Although I would very much like Visual Basic 5 Enterprise Edition, I
just can't see
breaking God's Commandments. In the end, someone always pays, be it via
fines, jail
time, or higher prices, someone always pays.
Of course you could argue that $1199.00 is way too much for a compiler
and get it
off the net for free somewhere, but consider this.....
Suppose you do, and you make a great program...something that took
months to perfect.
Something you worked 8 to 12 hours a day on because it was something you
created
from scratch and it was a good program. Now, you only ask say...$20.00
to register
the software. Sure you get some genuine orders and the program makes you
some money.
Now, you log onto IRC or something and see YOUR program...YOUR hard
work, YOUR effort
YOUR hours of sleepless night, YOUR hours of debugging code to make your
program run
just right....being offered for free. Think about how you would feel.
I know I wouldn't be too happy....
