Hi, Bruce;
BL> Hi Ivy,
BL> Just out of curiousity, are you getting the SB-SAT_TRACK echo ?
I am areafixing it now.
BL> I think I saw the keps for Sput-40 listed there and the full list
BL> of all sats flying is posted on pretty regular basis. If you haven't
BL> been carrying it there, you might get all the info you need by
BL> doing a %RESCAN of the echo from your feed.
IT isn't in Net 154 at this time, so I'll have to start with whatever
comes down the pipe.
BL> The other course might be to drop a line to Hugh Gregory (the
BL> moderator of the SpaceBase echos). He has been REALLY helpful to
BL> me in the past in locating data for the various HAM and TVROsats.
I am sending him netmail tonight asking about this.
BL> I believe you can also get all the ELsets you might need (and
BL> then some!) from T.Kelso's web site. Don't have the URL handy at
BL> this momment, but a search for that name SHOULD bring it up. Also,
BL> Robert Smathers (the author of the South Sky Satellite Scanner Chart)
BL> has a LOT of sat-data available on his web site at:
BL>
BL> http://www.nmia.com/~roberts
BL>
BL> And I think I remember seeing a link there to the 'T.S.Kelso' page.
BL>
BL> http://www.grove.net/~tkelso (I looked and found it :)
BL>
BL> I don't remember whether or not you have inet access, but if'n you
BL> don't, let me know and I'll see what I can get for you.
Nope, only E-mail, no surfing.
BL> RE STSPLUS: I'm not sure about the version you have, but the one
BL> I have here for d/l, has a special menu selection for
BL> adding up to 32 (i think) birds in addition to the main
BL> target vehicle. Once you select the ones you want to
BL> track (by the Norad #), this function will pull all the
BL> information needed from the latest ELset (TLE) file.
BL> Then just be sure that you use the 'update' (&) function
BL> and the index file you mentioned in your post will be
BL> created for you. At that point I guess you could manually
BL> edit that file to add/minus sats, but why ?! the program
BL> will do that for you, as long as you know the Norad# and
BL> THAT sat is in your TLE file.
I can track any ONE bird as long as I have the Keps for it, but
there is something missing, (launch time/location?), or I can't
track it as anything but the primary.
BL> BTW: You can get the full ELsat TLE listing from 1:153/719 with
BL> the magicname "TLE-SAT", Or from 1:249/112 as "SATDAT.ZIP".
Been there, did that. Didn't help. I now have Keps running out of my
ears, but I still can't track half a dozen birds carrying Ham radio AT
THE SAME TIME.
Enjoyed the chat on the twisted pair! TNX FER THE CALL OM.
