Hello Carol! On Thursday December 07 2006 13:04, you wrote to me: MvdV>> Where is it documented? A standard ain't a standard until it is MvdV>> docume by a recognised body. You as FTSC member should know MvdV>> that. CS> I'm aware I never sent it in for FTSC. I'm also aware it's in heavy CS> use in the ¨2 zones with the most ION percentages. That would be funny if Z6 actually *had* IONs. The old joke about the mouse and the Elifant making noise together comes to mind. What spoils the joke is that Z6 does no have any IONs. an ION is connectable via InterNet only. Operative word: *connectable*. yes, there are two that maskerade as IONs. Lawrence Fan and Anatoli Tung. Contrary to what the nodeist suggests, they do not have binkp server on-line to receive mail, so they are not ION. They are Down! And, no Bin Li or Terri Roati are also not ION. They are TON. Telepathy Only Nodes. They list no contact information at all, so only telepathy will do. CS> It was done to make our sets easier for ¨the rest of you to adapt. It odes not make it easier for me at all. I still have to revert to an undocumented feautre of my POTS mailer to compltetely stop it from attempting t dial out to these nodes. A sysop not knowing about this undocumented feature is out of luck. CS>> The exceptions are there but the drive has been established. A backroom agreement bewteen the mouse and the hare. Conniving to overthrow the fox, the wolf, the lion and the elephant.... Yeah right... MvdV>> I would be all in favour of using the new makenl and allow MvdV>> -Unpublishe on entries other the Pvt, but all except ZC3 seem to MvdV>> chicken to give i a go. :-( CS> It's ready when all others are. I'm ready now. So am I. So what stopping you?
