  That's not what they intend for Mascot...and not what I *saw*
the other day. Most traffic was on the old runway west-east, and
thenm a 747 landed west-east on the new runway.

  The proposal is to keep most traffic over the Bay, and this means
takeoff and landing in opposite directions (veering north and south,
naturally). The idea is that *all* takeoffs will go into the Bay, with
landings from the City *only* when wind does not permit.

  But you may be right. The FAC is bullshit from top to bottom.
