Dunno.....I've just been playing / setting up & testing my father in
law's new machine. I only have a CD burner but both burner & DVD player
do CDR & CDRW & both worked with MP3'es. It also does Jpeg's on CD
(e.g. photo albums). Having spent about 2 days going round every damn home
elec shop in the area....Most/all now do DVD/CDR/CDRW/MP3 with some doing
the JPEG photos from CDR/CDRW
The main differentiator high end /low end is now proper Dolby 5.1 surround
sound thingy (i.e. 5/6 speakers etc). Identical machines (both TV'es &
DVD'es) but a different model number & 50-100 UKœ added on top......for
surround sound. I was left wondering if they've just put a blanking plate
over the surround sound out ports on the cheaper models.
