ML>> hunh? the program isn't meant to be able to log into a ftp ML>> server and browse one's way around it and upload/download ML>> files?? GM> Of course it is. I have no trouble using Arachne to connect to GM> unprotected FTP sites and browsing and downloading from them. GM> So far I haven't tried uploading to one of those sites. GM> What I am having trouble with is connecting to and uploading GM> to my own private password-protected site with Arachne. i understand both of those points... however, the wording used indicates that the program that is/was being discussed was connecting to the site and then the only option was to connect to another site... i don't know which program it was, ATM, because the subject line says FTP07 and Arachane has also been mentioned... in any case, FTP works via a specific series of steps, no matter what you think you see happening... 1. connection 2. username request 3. send username 4. password request 5. send password 6. dump you in the base/root directory for that username and await commands from remote user in the above, the odd numbers are what you do and the even numbers are what the remote does... yes, the above is extremely basic... AIR, in the previous discussion which prompted my comment you replied to, the program being used is apparently hiding some of the above steps or doing them automatically and the end result is that you are not reaching step 6... )\/(ark* Origin: (1:3634/12) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 3634/12 106/2000 633/267 |
