Jeff, I think the SPUG Club (formerly Springfield Pet Users Group) still meets 
in an church basement or something.

There is a UNIX Users Group which meets second Wednesday of every month at 
Gabatoni's (3rd & Laurel) in Springfield at 18:30 for pizza and frothingslosh. 
Attendance runs from three to eight and we usually talk about a wide range of 
stuff - not always confuser related.
