Not necessarily 'disproven'...let's just be charitble at this time of year 
and call it "well-meaning".

Originally, she was Dr. Selar.  Then, she was K'eyhlar, the mother of 
Alexander by way of Worf.  Finally, she was Q...in the VOY episode, "The Q 
and The Grey", in which she and Q 'conjoined' to produce a new Q.
At the present, she can still re-appear in DS9 as Selar as a semi-regular, or 
as the occasional Mom Q.
