-> what do you mean by sleeper???
JH> A street sleeper is the full term. A sleeper is a car that looks like
JH> it just came off the showroom floor, or out of the junkyard, but is
JH> still very fast. It is more a deceiver, I guess, as it deceives other
JH> drivers into thinking that it is a piece of junk, but then beats them
JH> in a drag race.
My wife has a 1975 Buick LeSabre convertible, 455 engine,
she used as a daily driver until a couple of years ago, and she used
to be amused by all the young bucks who thought they could pull away
from her at a stop sign with their supposedly hot cars, particularly
as she is a mature lady.
It was strictly stock, but most of the time she had no
trouble getting away ahead of them without spinning the wheels or
making a jackrabbit start.
