At 29-09-95 Peter Fitzsimmons squeezed among other things this out of his/her keyboard: PF> I know not what VA (cset 3) is up to, but the fact that you could link PF> with cset 1.0 libraries means that the *.LIB's and *.OBJ's _are_ PF> compatible. But not the *.obj and *.lib that are created by VAC++ by default. VAC++ introduced a now obj-format to get easier compile and link c++-code with templates. In earlier versions you had to invoke the linker via the compiler to resolve templates. With the new format, the linker is also able to resolve templates. Nevertheless there's an option to produce the old obj-format.
